1. Laurie Garrett is an American science journalist and author.

She was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Journalism in 1996 for a series of works published in Newsday, chronicling the Ebola virus outbreak in Zaire. Wikipedia

2. Wrote the great book

The Coming Plague
I read it years ago and it scared the shit out of me. It's a huge book, but you can't put it down. She is a treasure.

4. The Coming Plague

I want to recommend this excellent book. She wrote it quite a few years ago, but everything she said would happen is happening now. It's written in plain language and yes, it will make your hair stand on end, especially now.

6. She also wrote

Betrayal of Trust, the Collapse of Global Public Health which is probably far more pertinent to what's happening today.

7. I was hoping to catch Rachel at 6 but no Rachel.

It was Chris Hayes instead.

Maybe at 7? Nope. Brian Williams again again again.

You guys are lucky.
