5. Yes, all top Repubs knew but still went ahead with their CPAC conference starting 2/26th

and Trump went ahead with his Mar a Lago fundraisers weekend of March 6th. Seems many top Repubs were most concerned either with unloading their stocks and fundraising while he and right wing media were downplaying it and their business friends in media kept trying to prop up the markets advising public to stay in.
