This country is being gutted.

‘Holy crap this is insane’: Citing coronavirus pandemic, EPA indefinitely suspends environmental rules.

The EPA uses this global pandemic to create loopholes for destroying the environment. This is a schoolbook example for what we need to start looking out for.”

The Environmental Protection Agency, headed by former coal lobbyist Andrew Wheeler, announced on Thursday a sweeping and indefinite suspension of environmental rules amid the worsening coronavirus pandemic, a move green groups warned gives the fossil fuel industry a “green light to pollute with impunity.”

Under the new policy (pdf), which the EPA insisted is temporary while providing no timeframe, big polluters will effectively be trusted to regulate themselves and will not be punished for failing to comply with reporting rules and other requirements. The order—applied retroactively beginning March 13, 2020—requests that companies “act responsibly” to avoid violations.

That's why they blow up, name call, and walk away, while digging their heels more.

tin!!! I've been suspicious all along and it's too convenient. The tell-tale signs are the obvious dragging of feet on EVERYTHING they could possibly d to help. China doesn't seem to be hit very hard but everyone else is getting nailed. On top of that, I suspect that all the rump buddy despots around the planet have decided there's just too many underlings to manage so a pandemic would be convenient. I know it sounds ct but what if some of them come true?

A lot of bad stuff is happening, as planned, while we are locked up at home. How will we resist letting them get away with this? My red alert alarms have been screaming since the impeachment nightmare. And I think the incentive for letting this happen is revenge.

because, yeah, a pandemic is a conservative's dream opportunity to say fuck all to the law and to morality and all that is good.

Look at what the fucks did after 9-11... and this could have been a hell of a lot worse.

We don't control enough of the government, but what we control is enough to fuck up the GOP wet dream of a Third Reich-style America.

They LIHOP, and we ended up destroying Iraq, and torturing people (just to name two clusterfucks that resulted), all based on lies. Cheney, Bush and all the war hawks had their wet dreams.

Remember, Hussein invaded Kuwait because Kuwait was using slant drilling to actually steal Iraq's oil.

Herbert Walker urged the Iraqi people to rise up against Hussein, and he would stand behind them. They did, but then he didn't come to their aid.

HW visited Kuwait in 1993, where an assassination plot was uncovered. Clinton investigated and intelligence found that the Iraqis were behind the Kuwaiti assassination attempt, and retaliated against Iraq because of it. Many were arrested and killed. After W stole the election, he was still pissed because of the assassination attempt on daddy Bush.

So we DID invade Iraq, completely destroying it. (Hint, the WORST thing we did in this time of history was to take out Saddam Hussein. HE was keeping it under control, and the Iraqi people were some of the most educated in the region, and had the most freedoms of any Arabs, in the region. And we took him out. Yes, he was bad, but look what we got as a result...)

The first thing we DIDN'T do after invading Iraq was to take control of all the arms and munitions IN Iraq. So the political vacuum left resulted in ISIS forming, and they had a huge arsenal to work with, which we just handed to them.

THAT all worked out so well, didn't it?

Fast forward to today, where the same conservative USA USA USA war hawk mindset, led by an absolute idiot who is still trying to compensate for being an EPIC failure at EVERYTHING he has touched, backed up by the most ignorant, racist, bigoted, cult voters, is leading (ahem, cough, HACK) America in a fight against a most deadly disease, by throwing science out the window...

Now people are dying because of the turd's greed, and fear of what is coming after he loses the election, and yet they are still ramming through their agenda for right wing, corporate interest, and 1%.

We can go two ways...

Either we are fucked... or

This will finally be the straw that takes THEM ALL down.

There is no half way. If we try to take the high road and there is no accountability, sorry, but that falls into the "we are fucked" category. We must learn the lesson, or all has been for naught.

This "slow motion train wreck" is going to shape our future for a more sane and just America, or completely destroy it.

I'd always been baffled by the fact that Hitler wasn't stopped by someone or some group...how could they have let that happen? And now we are watching it happen in real time!

RW fascists are rejoicing and are pushing this in really bad directions, like Barr wanting to be able to arrest anyone for any reason and hold them indefinitely during "periods of unrest" is totally chilling, wanting to give $500 billion with ZERO strings or repayments is telling, refusing to nationalize the response is choosing to let people in blue states die with no help from the federal govt. Home schooling is truly needed now, but bet you they will use this to try and end all public free education. Everything is an assault on us and our country and a benefit to the rich. Shit is getting deeper and deeper and I am very worried.

That FUCK and his goons will kill off the ACA once and for all. SS and Medicare will be tossed or gutted to the point of being worthless. The EPA could be eliminated in an afternoon and the list goes on.

Railroads granted unprecedented FRA safety regulation waivers.
It's astonishing. These MFer's will stop at nothing. Years of regulatory provisions that keep workers and the public safe just got thrown in the bathtub to be drowned with the rest of "big government". Under the guise of Covid-19 prevention, the FRA (which BTW is being run by a former railroad CEO) gives the railroads carte-blanche to do whatever the fuck they want regarding required track and locomotive inspections, required brake tests, operational testing, and on and on and on.

The RR's are saying that they needed this due to predictable manpower shortages. That's bullshit - they have been furloughing people for the last 10 months as a result of PSR (Precision Scheduled Railroading), which was just another scheme to inflate the price of their stock.

There is literally too much to list here. Disgusting and Dangerous. Here is the link.

I’m so angry I’ve been shouting to an empty room! Business Insider has reported that Republicans sneaked a massive tax break for real estate developers in the stimulus bill.

https://www.businessinsider.com/wealthy-real-estate-investors-get-tax-cut-in-coronavirus-stimulus-2020-3

“A provision slipped into the $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package by Senate Republicans enables wealthy real estate investors to reduce their tax burden, The New York Times reported Thursday.

Designed to benefit households with over $500,000 in nonbusiness income, the measure allows investors to apply on-paper losses from falling property values to their bill with the Internal Revenue Service.

The change will cost the IRS an estimated $170 billion over the next decade, The Times reported, characterizing it as "a potential bonanza for America's richest real estate investors."

Just one example of the already generous tax breaks real estate developers get: “As The Times notes, Jared Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, was able to avoid paying any taxes in 2018 by applying on-paper, if not actually realized, losses from ample property investments.”

Kushner reported income between $89 and $135 million and paid NO federal taxes! I’m sure Trump didn’t either.
