Trump surgeon gen. says New York may not need ventilators it's requesting: 'The models are way off!'

ANOTHER TRUMP STOOGE

President Donald Trump’s surgeon general on Friday suggested that medical experts in New York may not know what they’re talking about when it comes to the number of ventilators they’ll need to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Appearing on CBS, Surgeon General Jerome Adams was asked about New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s request for 30,000 ventilators, which President Donald Trump said on Fox News Thursday night was an exaggeration.

“We heard New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo ask for ventilators, he gave very specific numbers, do you think he doesn’t know what he’s talking about on this issue when he’s in constant contact with the top New York hospitals?” asked host Gayle King.

“I think that’s a fair question, and I think that if you talk to experts, Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx and others, the models in many cases are way off,” Adams said, referring to models projecting New York would need tens of thousands more ventilators.

How about you roll up your sleeves and go work on a unit for a while. Oh yeah, with the same level of equipment you expect our caregivers to work with. Get back to us on that.

EDIT

After two years in private practice at Ball Memorial Hospital, Adams was named assistant professor of anesthesiology at Indiana University.[11] He has written several academic papers and book chapters, including chapters in Anesthesia Student Survival Guide, A case-based approach,[12] and an editorial in the American Journal of Public Health, "Are Pain Management Questions in Patient Satisfaction Surveys Driving the Opioid Epidemic?". [13]
Indiana State Health Commissioner[edit]

In October 2014, Adams was appointed Indiana State Health Commissioner. He was originally appointed by Governor Mike Pence and re-appointed by newly elected Governor Eric Holcomb in 2017.[14] In this role, he oversaw the Public Health Protection and Laboratory Services, Health and Human Services, Health Care Quality and Regulatory, and Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Commissions; he also served as Secretary of Indiana State Department of Health's Executive Board, as Chairman of the Indiana State Trauma Care Committee, as President of the Healthy Hoosier Foundation, and as Co-chairman of the Indiana Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative Governing Council.[15] During an HIV epidemic in 2015, Adams initially opposed needle-exchange programs on "moral" grounds, but later changed his position as cases continued to mount.[16]

A simple linear one(I doubt the guy could do anything with an exponential curve). Have him solve for X in say, one week, then two weeks time.

Shut up and get the ventilators.

You can bet if his mother needs one there will be no problem.

PLAN for the worst and expect the best. There is this thing called a cargo plan and also there are trucks. If NY doesn't need all 30,000 to 40,000, hopefully, they can be moved to where there is a need.

Sorry for using that nasty four letter word. I would wash my mouth out with soap but it is in short supply.

These doctors have a lot of shame on them. Bobbleheads for Trump. It's clear that they are saying what they have been told to say, even though it makes no sense.

I'd give my eye teeth to be the Surgeon General. I'd resign before I'd let the likes of Trump corrupt me. I'd let them shoot me before I'd lie about our situation.

If they don't have the money to ship the vents, let people take their pickups and go get them.

Where are they, Adams? We want those vents!
