we are zeroing on on 100,000 cases. Hospitals and healthcare providers are lacking much needed supplies, the orange asshole fiddles while the nation burns.
at what point does the system break down? where the healthcare system can no longer provide anything in the way of help due to being overwhelmed and lacking supplies?
this is what scares the living shit out of me.

So many coming out of retirement.
Medicine everywhere working for a vaccine.
Civilians making masks. And contributing what they can. Neighbors checking on neighbors.
Vendors ready to build or ship ventilators.
American systems might breakdown but American people will work around obstacles like trump.
I dont think there is a breaking point for true soulful Americans.

(9,313 posts)Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington has project site that provides projections of resources available, resources needed, projected cases, deaths, etc. The default page provides aggregate data/graphs for the US. There are drop downs to view graphs for each state.
NOTE: The projections assume the continuation of strong social distancing measures and other protective measures.

(14,492 posts)the only way we'll know is to go to credible news sources in the capitol cities of the most troubles states OR each state's health Dept. web site.........for example, New York, Louisiana, Washington state, etc.
Unfortunately, leaders in red states will lie and mask over any state of emergency. I can already see that in reviewing the status in some red states. Still get plenty of sports reports, though.
Here are a couple of good medical sites:
