General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI just received "PRESIDENT TRUMP'S CORONAVIRUS GUIDELINES FOR AMERICA" in the mail today
and immediately threw it in the trash then washed my hands for a full minute. FUCK HIM. I'm sure that thing insisted on having his name emblazoned on that CDC postcard--in all caps because we know how much that thing loves them. Again, fuck him. I'll go onto the CDC website if I want information. I wouldn't take that thing's advice on anything. Sorry, but that card just rubbed me the wrong way.
Fucking narcissist.

(92,219 posts)The document also mentions the need to debunk "exaggerated product claims," though it anticipated that these claims would come via the internet, NOT OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
It shoujld be clear by now that the Trump administration's response has violated every one of these rules --
not merely day-to-day, but sometimes within the same briefing, as when Trump's scientific advisors from the CDC or the food and Drug Administration have to step to the microphone to contradict some ignorant claim Trump has made.
This is no way to run a pandemic response. The postcard arriving in your mailbox today or over the next few days offers the right advice. You should heed it. As for the daily ruminations heard from President trump, you should ignore them. That
is a sad commentary on the condition of the federal government"

(12,712 posts)It could have had an agency name on it or just be presented as Federal guidelines.
He is, of freaking course, using this to sway opinion, since any valid information would not be his in the first place seeing how, despite his rhetoric, this crises is not in his field.
Now, President Trump's Used Car Buying Guidelines, that would be more apropos. He would sell you a rusted auto body with no wheels and call it perfect.

F--- him.
Especially since, really, the last thing a person should do is ever take medical advice from Cadet Bonespurs-Staring-Into-the-Eclipse.
It's not HIS guidelines, it's health department guidelines that he wants to plaster his name on for campaign purposes.

(34,402 posts)What irked me was the PRESIDENT TRUMP'S CORONAVIRUS GUIDELINES FOR AMERICA dominating the front of the postcard. Do you think any other president would've had his name so prominently displayed on the front like that? Can you imagine President Obama doing that? It came from the CDC, for crying out loud. What pissed me off, even more, was that those commonsense guidelines are in opposition to what that thing keeps spouting in those pity party/press conferences. And he doesn't give a crap about anything but his "numbers."
And I think it IS political. That thing wants to gaslight the nation into thinking he's "The Virus Slayer" when he's the one who's made it so much worse than it should've been.
If our DOJ was any place other than DIS-BARR's potty throne, this card alone might be prima facie evidence of campaign contribution violations (IANAL).
How so? well mf45 gets the purported/predictable goodwill benefit for NOTHING he has in fact said or proposed, while we chump taxpayers paid the USPS to deliver them to benefit solely MF45. Just like bait and switch.
Why else would MF45 see to it that its lead in bold large lettering would advertise PRESIDENT TRUMP'S CORONAVIRUS GUIDELINES FOR AMERICA
Such an advert evidences corrupt intent on MF45's part when his mouth and a$$ spew the exact opposite of "as-stated" CDC guidelines on that print card.
Pathological grifting.
Passive-aggressive egomaniac.
MF45 has already tried to kill the truth of American values & spirit.
BUT we vote, we resist and we persist.

(15,540 posts)I'm in Michigan too. I went to my mailbox, saw it in there, it was the only thing I received since I do almost everything online, and I decided to just leave it in the mailbox forever. Let the mail carrier wonder why.
I used to put unsolicited stuff right back into the "out" slot and the mail carrier would put it back in my mailbox, even if my name and address weren't on the junk mail. I've often wondered how she knew it was for me.
