Any of them that lose their lives doing this ought to be awarded a medal and trust fund for their offspring if they leave children behind.
The money can come from the paychecks of insurance executives and trumps golf budget.

I am sure Trump doesn't even know they exist.
He has not of yet mentioned them.
Doesn't want his lemmings thinking about why they are in so much danger probably.

(6,110 posts)I was married to a nurse for 23 long years, and I have seen first hand what they go through.
We would be sitting in a restaurant having a meal, and invariably some people would stop by and thank her for taking such great care of them in hospital. I always wondered how they even recognized her in civilian clothes.

Make donations in some nurses name.
Mostly resolve to pay it forward once the pandemic is over. Let them know we wont forget them. Volunteer at the hospital or library or any public service.

(1,866 posts)Ask them what you can do to show appreciation. This might include having pizza or other food delivered to areas that the Director/Supervisor identifies.I may do this myself. Thanks for the idea.

(16,863 posts)We have a little restaurant next to our hospital called "Mama's Kitchen". During normal times, it's packed every day for lunch. They serve "home cooked" meat and 3 type food but it's always so good and the menu changes daily. Today, the restaurant reached out to our hospital and informed us that they had had so many members of our community reach out and pay for meals that they were offering free lunch to all hospital personnel. It was really touching and such a humbling experience to know that people here have our back
