Trump's "Chinese virus" crap is partly responsible for such behavior, but that's not the entire reason. Sheer stupidity is the primary reason people react like that. They see everyone who looks asian as Chinese. Then, they connect that with Trump-like statements about the virus and their fear and anger take over their dim little brains and they act out.

Kao Lor is an Asian man who was traveling through Plymouth to buy a car Wednesday night.

He needed a place to stay and tried two hotels in town. First he went in to the Super 8.
