Jeannie is business manger for three local stations and has been working
from home for two weeks. Most of her work is dealing with advertisers that
are cancelling ad spots. Why advertise if no one can go anywhere?

She used to work at a big rock station in Houston, free backstage passes
to every concert. I didn't meet her until she moved to Tombstone years ago.
Why, I'll never know.

(25,816 posts)I complained about it for a long time, but the advertisers supported
Rush and finally gave him up. Pretty good rock and roll now, all on
digital feed, very little actual DJ time.
In the old days, say 40 years ago when I first came to this little town,
there would be morning swap stuff, like Clinton Burnam offering a couple
of good layin' hens. " 37 degrees at my place this morning." And country music.

(11,443 posts)We didn't have a TV until I was about 10 or 11. Radio was it. My favorite show as a little kid was The Lone Ranger. Listened to it on an old tube-type Zenith table radio. My dad had a Zenith Transoceanic AM/Shortwave unit I was allowed to play with when he wasn't listening. Remember listening to reports about the Korean War when Truman was president. Grew older and started listening to those night time flame throwers like WLS in Chicago or WWL in New Orleans. WLS played all the latest new rock and roll from Elvis, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many more.
