McSally calls on WHO director to step down

Sen. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) is calling on the director of the World Health Organization (WHO) to step down as Republicans pounce on the organization for what they say is a role in a Chinese cover-up of its coronavirus statistics.

McSally, who is also in the midst of a fierce election fight, said on Fox Business on Thursday morning that Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus should step down over the WHO’s handling of COVID-19, which originated in Wuhan, China.

McSally said the WHO failed to adequately screen figures coming from Beijing regarding its number of cases and fatalities as reports emerge that the government’s statistics may be rosier than the reality.

"I’ve never trusted a communist. And their cover-up of this virus that originated with them has caused unnecessary deaths around America and around the world," McSally said. "The WHO needs to stop covering for them. I think Dr. Tedros needs to step down. We need to take some action to address this issue. It's just irresponsible, it’s unconscionable what they have done here while we have people dying across the globe."

by China of C-19 in Dec. of ,'19, we had a CDC epidemiologist in China until she was fired in the summer
of 2019, Trump fired the global pandemic task force in 2018, and Trump was warned of a global
pandemic in Jan. of 2017 by the outgoing Obama administration.

13. Martha - your shallow grasp of what happened at WHO does not qualify YOU to make

any demands on the resignation of Dr. Ghebreyesus. He recommended that the WHO COVID-19 tests already available be used by everyone. But, when trumpie discovered that those test kits were made in Germany, he had his predictable hissy fit, and declared that we were NOT going to be supporting a corporation in Angela Merkel's Germany. So, the decision was made to develop our own - something that NO ONE at NIH, CDC, NIAID supported because of the long lag time they knew would be necessary. A day late and a dollar short X a factor of 1000. So, now behind the game by two months, this is what we have.

But for McSally to blame Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for any wrongdoing is just her usual spurious, disingenuous, gaslighting BS. Smoke and mirrors, apples and oranges, Martha. You really should learn the difference.
