Those Governors are dealing with citizens who have been convinced that this is overblown and that science in general is a lie. The Governor's are trying to balance what they know to do it with getting re-elected.

...are only satisfied by his response if the virus hasn’t blown up in their state yet. Florida and Texas are figuring out which hand filled up first.

I only hope they still remember this come November. We have notoriously short memories, and of course these idiots will be trying as hard as they can to gin some lies up to placate their base.
