I meet the criteria. Don't owe child support etc.
Filed taxes in 2018 thru Turbotax (not done yet for 2019) and IRS has my direct deposit info.
Not sure what this means and can't seem to locate any info. Anyone else getting this message or have any answers?

(42,641 posts)The message was that the information that I supplied did not match their records.

(11,058 posts)It also said to try again in 24 hours.
I figure they're getting swamped, and may only have 2019 info?

(8,086 posts)I'm told due to "heavy traffic" I can't get through.
You think this would have been anticipated.

(8,086 posts)I hate being put on hold. To me it generally represents jobs lost to automation.
I especially hate it when I'm told "Due to unusually heavy traffic..." when I get the exact same message every time I call the same number. So it isn't "unusually heavy traffic" that's the problem--it's the unwillingness of companies to hire more customer service reps.
End of rant.

(10,749 posts)And the grayed out link for filers to provide banking information is no longer there. Just a comment that they are working on the means to allow people like me (and you?) to get our banking info the the IRS.
I also would appreciate any insight that DUers might have.
I have filed 2018, no bank info provided, have not filed 2019 yet.

(4,533 posts)If the site got overloaded then by default it gave this message. We should try again when the site does not have ten million people trying to use it at the same time. I just tried and now it tells me it is too busy. I no longer get the original message referred to in this thread. Maybe at midnight it will be available. Or on another day.

(13,571 posts)Can you tell me where you heard IRS say it was because of overload?

(3,547 posts)In the beginning people said we had to file 2019 income tax, so I filed showing no refund, no owing. Didn't ask for any bank info of course. Then I'm reading SS doesn't have to file 2019.
So now I got thru but it says I'm eligible and asking for bank info, put that in and now getting " we're having technical problems" well no dah. Well no wonder!!
Everybody's trying to find out if and when their getting their money.

(43,485 posts)so over 5 million people who filed but got no refund and owed nothing are fucked until they fix it (unless they already have banking info on record with the IRS)

(13,571 posts)eligibility cannot be determined
Nothing has changed in my status for many years. I get a yearly report from IRS.
I knew this would be SNAFU.

(114 posts)I found this on the site: "If you verified your identity and received "Payment Status Not Available" this means we cannot determine your eligibility for a payment at this time. This may occur for a variety of reasons, for example, if you didn't file either a 2018 or 2019 tax return or you recently filed and the return has not been fully processed"
I recently filed my 2019 return (April 5) and received my refund on April 13 via direct deposit. So was that too close to today for a payment? I wonder how long it takes to process a return--I already got my refund so you'd think it was complete.
I did not get my stimulus payment although my sister did-but she filed her return back in February.

(42,287 posts)And, as always, used any refund to pay against our next year's estimated taxes AND/OR they haven't completely processed the filing yet.
Or because they are understaffed, overworked and the political bosses don't know their $#!T from Shinola....
