LOL: Steve Mnuchin Thinks $1200 Will Last Families Up To 10 Weeks

Steve Mnuchin, the Secretary of the Treasury, came to the White House after a long career working with Goldman Sachs and then a variety of hedge funds. At the last count, the former financier’s net worth came in at an estimated $400 million.

With the kind of nest egg, it could be difficult for Mnuchin to imagine the cost of things for everyday Americans. During a Sunday appearance on CBS’ Face the Nation, the Treasury Secretary said that the $1200 relief checks should hold families over for up to 10 weeks.

There's always cake.

Marie Mnuchin. Such a queen amongst men.

Floating around in the sky the elite Elysium goes to your head after a while.

Has he invested in the torch, pitchfork and guillotine markets yet? I hear they will be making a killing on those.

What a sniveling disgrace the wealthy can be, especially when they open their twittering gobs to spew a fallacy. Is that in now? Posh?

from Fatherly.com, 4/12/2019:
Being a parent is hard. But being a single parent is even harder—especially when it comes to finances. That’s why Democrat representative Katie Porter broached the subject on Wednesday when she directly questioned JP Morgan Chase CEO Jaime Dimon about how a single parent could make a living on Chase’s low wages.

Porter started by describing a hypothetical scenario based on a real job listing posted for a bank teller position at Chase Bank. She broke down exactly what the single parent employee would spend her $2,425 a month on if she lived in a one-bedroom apartment in Irvine, Calif.

According to Porter’s math, the parent (in this case, a mom) would be left with a $567 deficit per month. She asked Dimon, “How should she manage this budget shortfall while she’s working full-time at your bank?”

I’m not being snarky.

If this is the way they think, they cannot be trusted to make decisions on our behalf. They just can’t.

Obviously, these decisions aren’t being made on our behalf but to just keep the torches and pitchforks to a minimum on their behalf, but they should at least know enough to do that effectively, for their own sakes if not for ours.

of gerbils. You can support a lot of gerbils on $120 a week.

Obviously he couldn't have meant people. A family of four couldn't afford Big Macs and small orders of fries once a day for that much. ($3.99 + $1.19) x 4 x 70 = $1,450.40

Maybe if you limit the kids to Happy Meals, only one per day, or you skip eating altogether on Tuesdays, then maybe.

You wanna pay rent or utility bills? You greedy taker!
