They should be making plans if they don't have them already.

(12,712 posts)Definitely! There will be interruptions and shortages, especially as the virus leaks out in the rural areas more.
There are also going to be problems with keeping food pantries stocked and running and those will be major as more people go to them out of necessity.
Acting on that NOW, would be most prudent in the sense of preparation and logistics in order to keep people fed.
Actually, that would be a function of a working Federal Government in a national crisis, but we don't have that now. I guess the states may have to act, but it should be a nationally coordinated effort.
