Media Momentum trumps All

At this point nobody thinks that that the movie had anything to do with motivating the deaths of the 4 people at the US consulate, and the consensus is that the deaths from from an organized paramilitary attack by an al-Qaida franchise (that attacked the same consulate a few months ago) that used the protest as cover.

But since the story early this morning was that the movie caused the deaths all of TV lined up people to talk about the movie, and investigate the movie, and dang it... that's what they're going with.

So we have the odd spectacle on CNN of Erin Burnett explaining that this was most likely a terror attack, not something done by the protesters, and then segueing right into an interview with an actress that appeared in "the film that caused these deaths."

Kind of surreal.

1. Is it a concidence it occurred on 9/11?

I haven't had time to read very many threads today but I assume that's come up.

2. al zahwahiri (i don't know how it's spelled) delivered the annual 9/11 address

about all the terrible things that would happen, and vowed to avenge the death of one of these ubiquitous AQ higher ups killed in a recent drone attack.

There's a lot of speculation about the date, but it sounds to be just that. Speculation.
