They stole all the money over the years and what used to be livable incomes are now reduced to poverty levels. Thanks Rmoney.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: But his study, which you’ve cited, says it can only work if you take away those deductions for everyone earning more than $100,000.

MITT ROMNEY: Well, it doesn’t necessarily show the same growth that we’re anticipating. And I haven’t seen his precise study. But I can tell you that we can lower our rates–

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, you cited the study, though.

MITT ROMNEY: Well, I said that there are five different studies that point out that we can get to a balanced budget without raising taxes on middle income people. Let me tell you, George, the fundamentals of my tax policy are these. Number one, reduce tax burdens on middle-income people. So no one can say my plan is going to raise taxes on middle-income people, because principle number one is keep the burden down on middle-income taxpayers.

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Is $100,000 middle income?

MITT ROMNEY: No, middle income is $200,000 to $250,000 and less. So number one, don’t reduce– or excuse me, don’t raise taxes on middle-income people, lower them. Number two, don’t reduce the share of taxes paid by the wealthiest. The top 5% will still pay the same share of taxes they pay today. That’s principle one, principle two. Principle three is create incentives for growth, make it easier for businesses to start and to add jobs. And finally, simplify the code, make it easier for people to pay their taxes than the way they have to now.

Even if you have two people earning $70,000 each, the entire family's income is not $200,000 or $250,000.

This is what is wrong with Romney. That sums it up. He has no clue about how the majority of Americans live. No clue. He sees more than half the country as shiftless and probably uneducated. The fact is that even with a graduate degree and a job to which you give your best, you can be earning very little today.

Wow. So out of touch it is sickening.

Romney is the living, breathing walking picture of the bad guys that Occupy Wall Street loves to hate.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/09/full-transcript-george-stephanopoulos-and-mitt-romney/

they are talking about the details of economic studies Romney is using to support his stance, when George points out it is harsher than Obama's actual tax rates (implied) Romney seems to use the 200 K number to make it sound like he isn't any different than Obama. I don't think this demonstrates Romney is clueless as to what average Americans make as he is doing what he always does, trying to have it both ways. He promotes economic plans that will clearly raise taxes on people in the 95 % while protecting the top 5 %, then when pushed for details runs away from the details and throws out numbers that sounds like Obama. Making one ask once again, what does this man stand for?

by no means an inexpensive area to live, make $65,000. They manage to pay the mortgage, eat, pay the bills, and a vacation every year. The biggest reason they are doing this is because they don't have a QUIVERFULL of kids. The more kids you have, the less money you will have. Hear that one, Paul Ryan, Cardinal Dolan? My son-in-law is a NYC teacher. My daughter does tutoring and has joined the Air Guard.

My older daughter makes $16/hr and rents an apartment on Long Island. She struggles but manages also. Even she is not considered at the poverty level.

Even today in that bedroom community of NYC, $250,000 would still be considered UPPER Middle Class.

My husband and I live in Florida. I am not working now. Since we have sold our second condo, which MY entire salary was paying for, we are still doing fine on his $85,000 a year. We go back and forth several times a year to NY, and takes a number of vacations around Florida. Hell, we certainly aren't living in POVERTY on under $100,000 a year.

Mitt Romney is totally out of touch with average Americans.

She lives in New Jersey, had a few roommates to help with rent. She might not be able to buy designer purses every week, but she's fine.

We live off hubby's pension and all our bills are paid, got food in the fridge and our youngest is in college. We have about 70,000 a year and we are fine. Of course my VA benefits allow me not to worry about medical coverage.

Just wanted to say hi, nice to see another mom who's daughter is in the Coast Guard. I hope she likes it.

the hog!"

In the next, they say "A hundred thousand? That's nothing. That's practically below the poverty line!"

They literally can't keep track of their nonsense from day-to-day. Think about this: Mitt Romney literally has no conception of what $10,000 means. He can't conceive of somebody being unable to spend $10,000 at the drop of a hat. Just write a check. Better yet, call my wealth management guy. The girl who answers the phone can cut you a check.

The worst part about it is that many millions of people who can barely afford $1000 will vote for a guy who'd drop a thousand on weekend getaway like it was nothing at all.

He's clueless.
