Like I said below, traffic is fucked (don't even try the 405,101, 5 or 10) but this isn't going to burn long (much better terrain than the San Gabriels)

It is in the area of "carmageddon", thru the Sepulveda pass. No winds which is great. They will probably be able to put it down pretty fast. 10% humidity though and pretty darn hot. Fire season is here.

Leo Baeck Temple, which is at the base of the ridge that is burning, evacuated eight Torahs but the staff was standing by to see if the fire would be contained in time to hold Friday Shabbat services, said Abigail Spiegel, executive director.

About Drinking Liberally:

"An informal, inclusive progressive social group. Raise your spirits
while you raise your glass, and share ideas while you share a pitcher.
Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place
to talk politics. You don't need to be a policy expert and this isn't a
book club - just come and learn from peers, trade jokes, vent
frustration and hang out in an environment where it's not taboo to talk
politics." www.drinkingliberally.com

Drinking Liberally is separate from our group, Los Angeles Progressive Friends, but still a fantastic opportunity to meet more great progressives. DL Westside meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

No Meetup fee required for this event.

Super Scoopers dropping water, and the lack of wind, they got it taken care of pretty quickly.

But it sure made an unholy mess out of traffic this evening. A friend was going to come up from Santa Monica after work but he cancelled. I couldn't see any way he could get up here in under 2 hours, if at all, lol.

Just asked hubby, and it's closer to the 405 than the five on the Hollywood side.

The only conceivable effect on LAX would be from traffic slowdowns, but the 5pm news live shots showed all lanes of the 405 open, even while the fire was still going.
