Trump has lost my 93 year old Dad.
He is a life long Republican.
He lives in a retirement housing area in Texas and yesterday he told me that he feels that Trump is throwing his aged people to the wolves. And he says this feeling is prevalent in their community. Many of them feel Trump is killing them to save his re-election possibilities. These are older people in a red state and most are well over 75. Things are probably going this way elsewhere too.

If it happens, Rick Wilson and Steve Schmidt are gonna burrow into the remaining husk of the Repuke party like ticks and wreak havoc.

We've always been Dems so his actions haven't changed our opinions of him, but they have bolstered how much we can't stand him, change the channel when he comes on, and hope & pray he looses in Nov!

9. It is going that way
Pretty much every poll taken is showing that the 65+ crowd has left Trump in droves.
Trump won this group by 8 points in 2016 and now Biden is polling dead even with them. That's 8% of the most reliable voting bloc. It's the kind of thing that causes retirement states like Florida and Arizona to flip. |

I was wondering if older folks would see that Trump is not for them, but actually acts as if they are expendable. Well, the whole GOP seems to be on that boat, as well.

16. The likely feel like the old guy in the Monty Python movie "The Life of Brian",
when the cart was passing through picking up the dead and his family offered him up. Like someone wrote a day or so ago, a lot of MAGATS would gladly sacrifice their older relatives for personal gain.
Note: to whomever it was, thanks for reminding me that the scene was in "The Life of Brian" instead of "Jabawoki" as I thought. |

22. DJT is losing A LOT of middle class seniors.
I live in one of those places with everything from independent cottages to nursing and rehab care all one large campus. The voting here tends to go heavily Republican - as does this county.
Since last summer the chatter has been more and more geared toward an alternative to DJT and in the process have about had it with the Republican Party. This does not in any way mean they are won over to the progressive side, but since there is no other viable alternative a lot of them will either vote Joe Biden, skip that race on the ballot, or write in Mickey Mouse. They are still talking about how the witnesses were treated in impeachment hearings. Especially the shameful treatment of "That Ukrainian lady" ( Marie Yovanovitch ) |

24. He's losing a lot of the elderly because they know they are at highest risk for Covid-19 and feel he
doesn't care about folks like your dad (or my parents, and so many other parents and grandparents).
And he and much of his flock indeed do not seem to care much about those dying. I have seen it right on social media. They are saying things like the elderly need to sacrifice, that their lives aren't more important than younger people who need to make a living, that this is no worse than the flu, that they would die anyway...Not a great way to win over the most vulnerable group in this crisis. |

Sometimes I’m surprised. I remember an old uncle of mine, sitting on my couch, I thought he was asleep. Bush Jr came on TV. My uncles suddenly roused and yelled “that son of a bitch is bankrupting this country”. Definitely raised my opinion of him.

The Republican leadership's refusal from the beginning to do what they were supposed to to stop this pandemic are de facto proof that their death are -- at very least -- accepted. And that is seen in many red-state nonactions as well.
