The bottom of the tweet has been cut off, you have to go to twitter.com to see it in its entirety.
I will take a pic of it.

And he wanted to "drain the swamp" ? If this is real, such BS.

Since there will be no more primary in Texas, an individual can only contribute a max of $2800, or $5600 per couple. Typical Trump written accuracy, the $2800/$5600 became $580,600. Maybe some sly Trumpanzee thought, "hey, it's Texas, maybe a few idiots will really pay that." Never mind that it's 100 times the legal limit. Theses ARE Republicans, after all. Limit, schlimit, as they say in New York.

Our elder daughter in NYC lost her job, as her company went under, but her husband makes enough to compensate for the loss in income. Our younger daughter is still the powerhouse down in Frankfurt. She makes three time what I do, and she is expecting her second child any day now. How she expects to juggle high-power job with daughter 1 (just turned 2 years old) and the new one, I don't know, but she has managed everything else, so I supposed she'll manage this. My wife is still running between here, her mom's place up north, and our daughter's place down south.

As for me, I am making a few jaunts to neighboring countries (Netherlands, Belgium, France so far), but France is a pain in the ass, as the half-hourly trains from Brussels to Paris have been reduced to one or two a day, and no hotels are open near where I work there. I also have pressing work in Switzerland and Spain, but flights down there are no longer several a day, but a few per week. What used to be routine has become a logistics nightmare, and our trip to the USA in July is STILL up in the air, as we don't know if my wife can come back without being quarantined for two weeks.

You visited us here at the right time!

Pretty heartbreaking what's been going on tonight in Dallas.
I can't believe there is any member of "polite" society in this city that would invite this. But then color me naive. I always have unrealistic expectations.
Hope you are doing well. How's the annual vacay looking?
Much love.

5. I'm still stuck here in Europe, of course, so I only see the news clips

Dallas seems still pretty tame compared to what was going on in Paris a few months ago, let alone Minneapolis now. At least it seems there were a lot of white faces at the Dallas protest, so that is encouraging.

The vacation is looking like one huge question mark. I already paid for the house, but if I can't use it, my daughter in New York can. There are still flights available, and the U.S. Embassy in Berlin said that the ban on EU citizens contains an exemption for the spouses of U.S. citizens. However, with her mom in shaky shape and our second granddaughter about to be born, she wants to be able to move around Germany as soon as she gets back, and the German Health Ministry and Foreign Ministry STILL won't say if she has to enter a 2 week quarantine when she returns. She won't go if that is the case, and space on the few flights left is filling up rapidly.

I hope to know more in a week--and probably won't. I will let you know

6. I know how much you love it. It seems each year to restore you.

But maybe just maybe not this year.
Dallas tonight was bad.
Not there, but it did get ugly. Not like in Minneapoli, but bad. Impressively, the police chief was out in the street trying to defuse.
Crime has hit the hallowed halls of Preston Hollow. Random violence right at Royal and Preston, due north and east of intersection. A beautiful, lovely wife, mom, career woman, shot dead in her driveway. A 16 year old juvenile has been arrested. Friends are being looked at. Said juvenile found because he bragged and posted pics on facebook.
Getting ugly in Dallas.
So happy and thankful for you not being here.

7. Preston and Royal???

That is getting uncomfortably close to home. I'm further south, near Preston and Mockingbird, but still, that's only a 15 minute drive away. I hadn't heard about the shooting yet. What kind of damaged kid does something like that and then brags about it?

And yes, very scary. We live further north by a few miles, but things are only going to devolve. Thanks to leadership we have in state (Abbott, Paxton.. etc) rushing to open everything up, and now with all the protests, the fudging actual numbers and just plain dumbfuckistan.... well like I said so happy you are in someplace more civilized and sophisticated. You are blessed and you must stay well.
We do have someone special, Clay Jenkins, but he is being seriously sidelined by not only our gov but by good ole county commissioners, led by none other than John Wiley Price and our very new special worthless mayor, Eric whatever. Oh yeah, Johnson.
Do you know Jim Schutze?

And I'm not familiar with any of the local press personalities, either. My dad probably knew the Washington correspondents of the major Texas papers just because they probably have offices in the same building (National Press Building at 14th and F in DC). But I lost him 20 years ago, and the only active Texas people I have any personal contact with at all are Matt and Dolly Angle, Aimee(Boone) Cunningham, Martin Frost and Wendy Davis. Most just sporadic contact, although I have been in regular touch with Wendy since she launched her campaign for the House of Representatives.

I have two contenders for the house that I am actively supporting to the extent I can from here. Wendy, and Valerie Plame in New Mexico. Valerie just got the bad news that about $1 million in dark money was just poured in against her, so someone somewhere is scared of her winning a House seat (and probably with good reason--she is formidable). If she loses her primary next Tuesday, it could well be because of that. I think I'll try to put in a word to the Biden campaign to consider her for VP if she loses.

your lips to God's ear!! Please make it be so!!
Warren was 1st choice, but she and Joe don't stand a chance. I had never even thought of Valerie, but she is damned near perfect. Make it happen if you can, 100% support here.

12. Wait until Wednesday morning.

If Valerie wins the primary, she is practically assured of winning her House seat, since NM3 is a blue district. That is what she had her heart set upon, and I haven't even mentioned VP to her at all. I would never attempt to put her name in play for VP without her approval. Even prominent people have their own lives and their own agendas.

Before I contacted my friend in the DNC about getting Rev. William Barber to speak at the 2016 convention, I asked Barber personally if he was OK with it (he said he'd be honored, so I went ahead, and whaddya know, he delivered a knockout speech at the convention). But I have no idea what Valerie is thinking about life after the primary if she loses. Her children are not old enough yet to be out on their own, and she might not want the VP slot even if handed to her on a silver platter. It wouldn't be fair to get her involved without asking her first.

Like I said, that only even becomes a subject for discussion if she is not our nominee for NM-3 come Wednesday morning, and we are all hoping at this point that she is.

she does. Will follow your lead. Who else do you favor for VP ? Could Warren and Biden make peace?
