and a Guard officer came out to speak with crowd.

He said he hears them and made an offer. If the people would agree to not approach the armored vehicles protecting the Capitol building (placed due to a threat of a militia group might be planning to storm the building) he would pull the troops back out of sight.

The crowd cheered to agree to his proposal and he ordered the troops to pull back. Several hugs were exchanged between some protesters and soldiers.

and taken seriously enough that 250-300 troops and police were kept at the Capitol to maintain a 360 degree guard. This started Thursday when there still was no control of the burning and looting.

About a half dozen armored cars have been placed at the top of the wide steps leading up to the building and are still there. It has also been made public that the NG troops there have live ammo.
