I know that you know that there is always 25-30% so entrenched in their own political bubble that no POTUS would ever be much better than 70% in either direction.
Geez, even 43 couldn't sustain the 9/11 super bump for more than a couple months!
His buffoonery surfaced quickly enough that he was down to 50ish in a little more than a year.

Trump was over 60% disapproval by Gallup in the past. (It's actually lower NOW.)

GWB was at 71% disapproval by Gallup.

Trump has had worse disapproval in 2017.

Maybe he's referring to at this point in the election cycle.

World wide plague, a great depression, 40 million unemployed, and he has rung up a 140 million $ golf
tab.

I think you're well aware of who can still support him. Racists, fascists, the remnants of the republic party, to name a few. Oh, and Russians. Plenty of Russians.

..professor friends said that Trump has a 25% base that will never leave him. He has given them the right to use the n word and the right to be stupid and proud of it too.

Although most of these people Trump would never associate with or have them at his golf clubs except to work.

The morons of America (with help from the Russians) elected the KING moron as their leader, because Hillary supposedly had "too much baggage".

Look at the number of "friends" Trump has thrown under the bus, and these people actually think Trump is going to stand up for them? Well, they are morons.

between what he has done, and what is going on, and why. They are not stupid per se. They are programmed to see and hear certain things through very specific filters. They are very susceptible to the propaganda and unable to take in some kinds of information which seems rather obvious to those of us here at DU. I am talking about very ordinary information. It's as if they are listening to a radio that cuts out certain phrases or sounds, or as if their ears don't work when certain sounds are detected.

They don't understand what is going on because they cannot recognize it.

When it is time to vote they read the labels, or listen to family and friends. They do not look like zombies, nor are they foaming at the mouth haters, or gun humpers or the obvious GOP raised zealots. They are a kind of pod people it seems, except that they act like human beings about many everyday things. It's almost as if their imagination has been turned down to 2, or turned off.
