During the ceremonies when the bodies of the US Ambassador of Libya and the other 3 were brought back to Edwards Airforce Base, Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama both said the above or words to that effect at the end of their remarks...giving them so much weight and gravity that they sounded like the most important parts.
My question is...do you think they have irony alarms that are working and that they just ignored them?
Or are their irony alarms not functioning at all?

Had either President Obama or Secretary Clinton neglected to add those words or similar words to the end of their remarks, we would be hearing about it for the remaining weeks until the election. It would be in ads. It would be in commentary from all sorts of quasi-journalistic talkers on television and the opinion pages of our newspapers.
So, they say those words. And, predictably, we complain about them. Reality bites.
