Harris: Trump throwing white supremacists a 'welcome home party' with Tulsa rally

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) torched President Trump on Thursday over the latter's plans to hold a campaign rally in Tulsa, Okla., next Friday.

In a tweet, Harris linked to a Los Angeles Times story that noted that Trump's rally, set to be held on Juneteenth, would be hosted in a city that was the cite of a racist riot and massacre in 1921.

"This isn't just a wink to white supremacists—he's throwing them a welcome home party," the senator tweeted.

Harris's comment and the Los Angeles Times story refer to the 1921 Tulsa riots during which more than two dozen black residents of the city were murdered and hundreds more were injured, while several blocks of black-owned businesses known as "Black Wall Street" were completely destroyed.

Katrina Pierson, spokeswoman for the Trump campaign, told The Hill in an emailed statement that the campaign recognized the importance of Juneteenth, which recognizes the day on which the Emancipation Proclamation was read to a group of enslaved black Americans in Texas.

He has no decency. Why not just have it June 20th? No big deal. He can say, “something came up and can’t hold it on June 19.” So easy to do and life would go on.

5. So . . . masks? No masks? Temperature screenings?

I have a feeling that it will play out like this:

Trump's "handlers" (who, in spite of their allegiance to the most stupid and ignorant president in the history of our nation, are actually fairly intelligent, at least, some of them are), will be wearing masks when they are out among the unwashed masses of Trump supporters in the audience at the rally. However, they will quickly shed their masks whenever they are onstage with Trump.

The unwashed masses of Trump cult members attending the rally, on the other hand, will proudly be sans mask for the whole rally in support of their beloved leader.

There will be no contact between Trump and the people who attend the rally, except for a few that were specially chosen and secretly tested for coronavirus beforehand. They will be paraded onstage as proof that (a) we don't need no stinkin' masks! and (b) Trump fears no one and nothing, not even coronavirus!

I would say I hope they all get coronavirus, but then they would take it back home and infect innocent family members and neighbors.
