13 Chicago cops lounged in a congressman's burglarized office,

making popcorn and coffee
Grace Hauck, USA TODAY June 11, 2020

CHICAGO – Late one night two weeks ago, a group of Chicago police officers put up their feet and lounged in the burglarized office of a U.S. congressman, preparing popcorn and coffee for themselves and napping on the couch.

U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Illinois, announced in a press conference Thursday that several officers were caught on videotape in his campaign office on the South Side.

The office had been burglarized amid looting earlier in the day, and the videotape of the officers picked up around 1 a.m. on June 1. About 13 officers were lounging in the office, including three supervisors and 10 other officers, for four or five hours, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said.

called heroes forever and a day now. I often wonder if people ever really stop and think of how pervasive their bullying mentality AND behavior really is. They should not be automatically considered heroes and get praise all the time, when most of us know just how bad their attitudes and behavior really are.

We are supposed to have freedom of speech in this country. Yet, I have seen video after video of cop after cop, attack peaceful protesters brutally simply because the cops didn't like what the protester said. I'm not talking about any threats, either. Just the slightest criticism.

They keep killing black people repeatedly, often for no reason at all. They have an attitude that they are to be worshiped and nothing less. They are spoiled because of all of the automatic praise they get, despite their horrid actions for ages.

And they demand praise and unaccountability for the abusive behavior they do like any other narcissist.

Only because he did not go home one night, and that was the night a murder squad from the Chicago Police Department came to kill Fred Hampton and the rest of the Chicago Black Panthers, in an attack authorized by th state's attorney, 'Mad Dog' Eddie Hanrahan.

Towards the end of 1969. There had been a gunfight between Panthers and the police a month before, that killed two officers. The raid on the Panther headquarters and all-around pad was straight vengeance. Police opened fire on entry, the only shot gotten off by a Panther was fired up into the ceiling as he died. The people who weren't killed but only wounded were beaten and indicted for various felonies, charges eventually dropped. Civil suits brought a couple of millions in judgements against the police. There's no doubt at all about the course of events, it was clear what had happened within days, and it has been exhaustively investigated.

I didn't own a tv (poor college student). I now remember it; going down and everyone at school talking about it in the Student Union. We were studying for finals, if I remember right. I didn't realize Rep. Rush was involved in that, way back when.
