Commander confirms Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in Syria
Iran has officially acknowledged for the first time that its Revolutionary Guards have been deployed in Syria.
The commander in chief of the powerful group said that personnel from the Quds division were providing “intellectual and advisory help.”
General Mohammad Ali Jafari told a news conference: “Because of the special situation in Lebanon and Syria, a number of Quds forces have been in those countries. However, that does not mean we have a military presence there.”
More video purporting to show the latest government bombardment of rebel positions in Syria has appeared on social media websites. It’s claimed this is Damascus, but there is more apparently from Homs and Aleppo.
