Trump is engineering an extinction event for the GOP.

Both politically and literally. The convention will take place in Jacksonville with no social distancing or masks. For good measure, since there are not enough hotels, they are commandeering a cruise ship to house the attendees...

And you know what ? The magats will go for it. Trump has a Jim Jones hold on his cultists

Just all other activity out, room service or pack-in food all the way. I wouldn't hurry to disembark and wear a PAPR with every excursion through the corridors until outside, far down the plank.
I'd take that over taking any flight anywhere, sealed inside a tight airspace no matter how carefully masked all other passengers were.
Wishful thinking all. I wouldn't even consider the latter, couldn't dream of affording a luxury cabin.

cult members. I don't think most of the people at the Jonestown massacre were idiots, yet they either willingly participated or were coerced. They were brainwashed.

These people in Trump's cult are the die-hard faithful. They will do anything for him. Even risk their lives.

Whatever they have to do to convince themselves that supporting their Fuehrer is more important than anything else in life, they will do it. Even if it means endangering their health.

back then in 2005 the city was too small and did not have enough hotels so they docked five ships and football fans booked rooms in them.

Trump just moved the convention there and once again all hotels are full so they want to again get cruise ships to host the attendees.

I would be tempted to say "SCREW IT" and walk out when all the Magats arrive in the ER demanding that I risk MY life to save their sorry asses!

If contact tracing finds a patient negligently contracted the virus at a rally, I would roll their gurney out to the parking lot and dump them out. Let their wife/sister/cousin load them into the back of the F-150, and take them home to die. Instruct them (using 4Chan I guess) to dig a grave big enough for both of them.

If these asshats want to kill themselves...FINE! Stop providing the medical interventions that kill innocent people.

The guy who struts around promoting this giant virus incubator is making attendees sign a waiver saying they won't sue him if they get sick!

I guess we're going to find out just how fucking stupid the Trumpistas are.

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/06/trump-rallygoers-must-agree-not-to-sue-if-they-get-covid-19.html

On Thursday, the Trump campaign sent out registration info for the president’s first rally since the coronavirus shutdown, including a waiver for attendees to agree to acknowledging the “inherent risk” of gathering in an enclosed space to yell for hours at a time. “By attending the rally, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.,” or the venue liable “for any illness or injury,” the agreement read.

sadly, the GOP delegidiots will not take ill and die at the convention, a la Poe's Masque of Red Death

instead they will bring the virus back home with them, exposing and re-exposing their family and associates. within a couple jumps the virus will once again become statistically agnostic to the political leanings of its food supply. a few more transmission hops and it will be back to preying on the weakest and poorest among us.

there is no win here. the self-goal is at the species level, not merely one political sect.

I am lucky that every single person in all sides of my family is a liberal. I know that's not the case for all families but then, that's a good opportunity to socially distance with them anyway..
