GS's bio has never quite connected with her performance on F&Fs. Makes one believe in developmental psychology sine Michele Bachman was supposedly one of her "nannies".

(128,970 posts)Wasn't sure whether he was a budding comedian punking them by purposing shifting his eyes back and forth and back and forth between the chortling deer-in-the-headlights moments to mimic being "nervous" or whether he was paid and trying to read cue cards (badly) held up by too many staff off camera or whether he was on some sort of drug... And then he went on to say that he first met Obama when he was in 3rd grade... ?
Guess they needed to fill a couple minutes of airtime?

Also, the meeting Obama in third grade is quite possibly true as he grew up in Illinois, outside Chicago.

(58,724 posts)He is a sophomore at UT Austin.
And didn't vote for Obama in 2008 as he was only 16.
He said they didn't even bother to check his DL to see how old he was.
As to his job prospects, he is studying creative writing so...

sophomoric jackass?
oberliner
(58,724 posts)1. He is not a college graduate - he is only a sophomore.
2. He didn't vote for Obama in 2008 - he was only 16 at the time.
3. He is president of a stand up comedy club at his university.
The comments about losing the basketball game and therefore having to vote for Romney and meeting Obama when he was a kid both appear to be true.
He also claims they just put him on the air without asking too many questions (or looking at his DL to see how old he was).

It will be interesting if they give him another chance, because you know, they'll have coached him.

(3,266 posts)handled him nicely. She was on to him early, never lost her cool, remained polite, and shuffled an incoherent guest off the air quickly. HE was the idiot. He wasn't funny or witty, just juvenile. He blew a great opportunity. What I saw was a jackass, and an adept tv personality pointing out his jackassery.
Surya Gayatri
(15,445 posts)is a professional journalist or not. One would hope she is, for christ's sake.
In her high-profile media position, she ought to be able to field any curve balls thrown her way.
The irony is this "parody within a parody". FOX sets up what they expect will be a staged moment to "get" Obama and they "get taken" for fools instead.
Their blatant propaganda operation was
revealed in all its splendor.
Bad vetting, bad production = major embarrassment.
ETA: They didn't even bother to check how old the kid is. He's only 20 and has never voted for Obama. He was 16 in 2008. Anything to get an anti-Obama rant on air!

Max Rice is a 20-year-old college sophomore at the U. of Texas-Austin, who does some stand up comedy.
He was 16 in 2008 and has never voted in a presidential election, let alone for Obama.
