From what I am reading, people signing up for a rally and not attending is not a new phenomena. They usually account for the fake signups. So why did the trump campaign get it so wrong this time?
Brad is supposed to be some wunderkid when it comes to social media marketing and campaigning. I think he would have know that the number was inflated. I think he knows Trump is tanking. But like all the people around trump, he's a grifter. He's going to tell trump what he wants to hear to keep the grift going to benefit himself. He knows he only has 5 months left to ride this gravy train.
In April there were reports of trump blowing up at brad and threatening to sue him due to low poll numbers. I think Brad told trump what he wanted to hear about the Tulsa rally. 1 million people have signed up, knowing full well that the number was inflated.

(2,447 posts)assume there would be a large turnout was stupid. His staffers just try to appease him with false expectations. Trump doesnt want to hear the truth, so they bs him. I think republicans are going to start distancing after this.

It's buyer beware when he resells that contact info. I'm sure they expect a certain rate of false info, but it's looking like 99% BS. Pretty much like their candidate. So I'm failing to generate much sympathy for his potential customers...

(5,127 posts)I'm thinking. He knew the number was inflated. He pushed the narrative of one million signups for 2 reasons:
1: To tell trump what he wanted to hear. This benefits brad to keep his grift going.
2. Somehow trying to fool other trumpers that 1 million other trumpers were hyped and excited to see trump - in the hopes of exciting them to sign up.

But, please proceed Brad. Keep telling us how you worked so hard vetting people and couldn't get 19k mouth-breathers to show up.

I didn't brag about the number. Nobody here bragged about 800,000 requests. Brad did.
Then 0.75% of the number actually showed up.
And the media doesn't know what they're talking about?
