Some NASCAR fans may be race ists, but a lot of the drivers/crews get it...not afraid to show it...

In front of a horde of NASCAR fans, many of whom were wearing "Black Lives Matter" and "I Can't Breathe" T-shirts, Bubba Wallace said "the sport is changing" after an emotional race Monday at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama.

Wallace, NASCAR's only Black full-time driver, was joined by all 39 other drivers and their crews in a march down pit road as they pushed his No. 43 to the front of the line in the moments before the race. The gesture came one day after a noose was found in Wallace's garage stall. When the group reached the front line Monday, Wallace climbed out of his car and wept.

of the way, but they were all on the edge of running out of fuel in the final laps, and his car sputtered and dropped back with maybe 4 laps to go. Came into the pits for fuel and tires, and rocketed from around 25th place to inside top-10 with 1 lap to go, but then things got crazy on the final lap, and he lost a few spots.

Still, the pre-race support and solidarity he experienced on the part of his fellow drivers and teams is something he will carry with him for the rest of his life!

The biggest racing legend who gave Bubba his ride. Petty is old school, but not when it comes to race!
