Trump again says 'With smaller testing we would show fewer cases'

President Trump asserted Tuesday that the United States would record fewer cases of the novel coronavirus with less testing after stirring controversy by saying over the weekend he asked aides to slow down testing.

“Cases are going up in the U.S. because we are testing far more than any other country, and ever expanding. With smaller testing we would show fewer cases!” Trump tweeted Tuesday morning. "Instead of 25 million tests, let's say we did 10 million tests. We'd look like we were doing much better because we'd have far fewer cases. You understand that," Trump said.

Trump’s remarks on testing come as several states are experiencing spikes in cases after relaxing restrictions meant to curb the spread of the virus so businesses can reopen. Cases began to rise nationally over the weekend after plateauing, with states like Arizona, Texas and Florida experiencing severe upticks in cases.

The White House has sought to minimize concerns about the new spikes, attributing them in part to an expansion of testing, though health experts say that the rises in cases cannot be accounted for by increased testing alone.

Seeing how few and limited are the “tracks” on his mind, this recurring statement reveals he really is a genocidal sociopath.

The only way to cure cancer is to ban cancer screening.

And he’ll suddenly become a popular president if polling is illegal.

He’s got it all figured out! Genius!

But he is so pathologically incapable of accepting numbers that "make him look bad' that he doubles down, removing the tiny chance that anyone would buy the "it was a joke' defense offered up by his staff. He is so incompetent, he can't even act in his own interests right.

10. Smaller testing?

The moron wants to say “less testing.” When he says, “smaller testing,” I imagine that there are BIG swabs and SMALL swabs and that we would have fewer positive results if we just used the small swabs. That’s the only way that I can wrap my head around the idea of “smaller” testing as I try to parse this idiot’s word salad.

in the smaller sample. You will also get less negatives. But, the percentage of positives does not change as the sample size is reduced.

Using your FU'd logic, less negative cases would mean that the Coronavirus infection rate is increasing. So, you should increase testing, which would give you more negatives (and reduction in CV infection). Which is absurd. In fact, Donnie, you are absurd.

In interpreting test results, you must use both the numbers of positive and negative results in the daily sample to produce a meaningful number that can be plotted on a trend graph. That useful number is the number of positives per 1000:

[Number of positives / (number of positives + number of negatives)] x 1000

I'm sure that scientists Drs. Fauci and Birx have explained that to you many times. But, you are too stupid or too duplicitous to stop mis-presenting the idea that reducing testing rate reduces the measure of the percentage of infection.

Conclusion: Donnie, you are too stupid and ignorant to be president. Resign Now.
