But they can probably argue about it back and forth until after the election and then do something once he's no longer in office.

It can't call out the troops or compel Congress or the president to obey, but relies on the executive and legislative branches to carry out its rulings. Most of the time Supreme Court decisions are obeyed, but sometimes they aren't, as in some of the school desegregation and school prayer decisions, which in some places were ignored for years.

The press keeps talking about “ associates “.Deutsche bank has admitted to Russian money laundering.Just did not give up the names or the PACs.
Add that to what I believe was a few trillion thrown into the market before Covid even got here and then tell me they are better on the economy.

Mazaar's and Deutsche Bank are the ones who have been subpoenaed for the records. Not Ass Face himself. Mnuchin has no say.

He would. He's gotten away with his BS so far, so why hot push the boundaries ALL the way out! We have so much stuff to fix that he has broken.

Looking forward, how do you codify this?

my question is even more global. How do you codify that the President is not allowed to defy SCOTUS?

Our system relies on people following the rules. Our present circumstances are a result of people willing to ignore the rules. The rest of us are left sputtering " They can't do that! It's illegal!"

The subpoenas were not issued to the Treasury Department, but to the Idiot-in-Chief's accounting firm and bank. I believe that they will not defy SCOTUS. I would guess that they want to stay in business.

Andrew Jackson, ignored a SCOTUS ruling regarding the Indian removal. Nothing happened and the forced March to Oklahoma began.
