....The reason these ads are so effective is that the people who make them, know that Trump is the worst president ever. These film makers want to save this country that they love. The film makers want these ads to be as close to "perfect" as possible. It doesn't look like it, but they spend a lot of time on each ad to make it just right. The Lincoln Project knows what is at stake in November and so do we. We must save the U.S.A., and these ads will help. We need all the help we can get. Thank You Lincoln Project for your ads.

(1,206 posts)is because of how quickly they cut to the chase and the manner in which they communicate the message.
Zero fat, straight hammering viciousness. Wilson has been doing this for years.
They have a podcast as well - very much worth listening to.

(38,427 posts)..Meeting Trump head on with "straight hammering viciousness" An expert ad maker at the helm. And quick and to the point. Thank You for your comment. And it is obvious that Wilson is a patriot too..

(326 posts)Remember these are republican strategists who have used these same tactics against Democratic candidates. We are being afforded a master class in how to do it, and we need to learn these lessons well, because I have no doubt they will all go back to being republicans once PINO is gone.

(15,035 posts)We've got to admire their talent at destroying their enemy. If only we Dems had some of their ilk.
If/When Joe wins, these people will once again become our political foes. And they will attack our next Dem nominee.
Dem operatives, take note or hire people as brilliant as these conservative operatives.
thought too. They are R.s and will start bashing Joe after he is in office (if he wins) after a certain amount of time.

(754 posts)They learned it from Democrats! And as others have pointed out, it's not like it's an ancient skill lost in the shadows of time - ask Jim Carville, too.

(16,926 posts)I think the "Duh!" moment for viewers is when they realize it is not the Dems or the "lame-stream" media that's doing them - but Republicans - you know, the ones who "nominated and supported" this horse's a$$!
No matter where the "resistance" comes from - it's a good thing and we must take it for all it's worth!

(7 posts)It is heartwarming to hear conservatives getting on this man and knowing who he really is. This guy is a moron. He can't even sit up straight. I have something radical to say about him: I hate him. I would not say this about Scott Walker, John Kasich, Ben Carson, or most other Republicans. This man has some real problems. The people who make them know that he is the worst president. He is a historical accident.

(19,066 posts)These ads are so personal to Trump, they build off from one another to invoke a response.
I tell you, they ran an ad on his health and bought time on FOX News in DC knowing Trump would see it and react, and he did, he spent a half hour at his rally proving he could walk and hold a glass. It is brilliant and ruthless and these guys are killing it.

(7,286 posts)They are the easiest ads in the world to make. Trump is a self made foil
They basically write themselves, these ads

(65,042 posts)No wonkiness, no needless details the general public can't process.
Simple points, hammered home, with obvious derision.
The days of "getting along" are gone. At least for now.
Grind them into the dirt, get them to minority political status, by any means available.
Once they're marginalized we can go back to conciliatory.
But, with them, conciliatory while they have any power is pointless.

(34,661 posts)simplicity of the Ads. These are aimed specifically towards the Bubba and Karen Crowd.
Senator Wellstone used these type of Ads to destroy Colman and Boschwitz. Remember the "Where is Rudy" and Where is Norm. Same Agency who did the Golden Pump Chicken Ads.

(38,427 posts)understand exactly what is being said. That is another sign of outstanding ads. These ads get right through to the point. Not a complicated message. Simple and clear..Thanks again for the addition of the the idea, "simplicity"

(7,809 posts)So many times, I have watched ads put out by Democrats that are so wussified and dull that it makes me scream. It's time our side went for the jugular.

(4,461 posts)... altruistic love of country for many of them, dont forget that these republicans overall support republican policy. I think they see a huge backlash to Тяцмр In the coming years, and fear his legacy will be to put republicans out of power for a long time. THATs what they are fighting against. Better to cut him off at the knees now than risk another four years of this shitshow waking up American voters to their policy goals.
And they can go low with little consequence. They dont have to also explain WHAT they would do differently, and how they would govern differently. Dem politicians have to be careful about not going too negative to keep the middle in play. The LP is able to pull out the sharp knives and start carving.
I appreciate what they are doing. But just keep in mind that you would be unlikely to vote for a single one of them for any office.

(10,893 posts)ran by people who know what they're doing, that's for sure. Considering that they're still R's at heart, it's a little unnerving to contemplate how they'd conduct themselves in the future. They support our side now, but they could easily make some hard-hitting ads against us in the near future. I wish they were more than just temporary allies.

(320 posts)You have it wrong. The reason that they are so biting (effective) is that they are being made by Republicans. Republicans know how to play dirty. Democrats don't. These ads *almost* make me feel sorry for Trump....Note the *almost*. They are as close as I have seen to Trump mocking the journalist. GOOD.
Everyone can recall what happened to the protagonist in "Clockwork Orange," correct? Trump gave to his father what he may get. He has certainly earned it.

(19,956 posts)Wilson, Reed etc have taken unreal levels of nastiness from Trumpists, and are giving back every bit as hard. Someone suggested earlier that post Trump, they'll go back as Republicans, but I don't believe they will. There will be a bitter hatred for them, with what's left, and vice versa. They're not going to become Democrats but will look to forge a new Conservative party, where I suspect they will try to slice off the "reasonable" Republican voter from the nutjobs.
