(23,314 posts)it would mean that Barr is no exception to that universal rule. Let it be so.
Question for our legal eagles: If Barr is disbarred...can he still be AG? Or will it just mean he cannot practice law? Im curious.

(11,098 posts)Lawyers are disbarred for felony convictions, theft of a client's money, demonstrably lying to a court, etc. If lawyers were disbarred for being jerks, there would be few left. It is extremely rare for government lawyers to be disbarred. I am hard pressed to imagine Barr's licencing state initiating disbarment.
Disbarment is a long and difficult process. If, (please God), VP Biden wins the election, by the time any attempt to disbar came on for hearing, Barr would have long been cast in the dustbin of history.

I've never heard of a lawyers being disbarred for a perversion of the course of justice. Perversion, like obscenity, is in the eye of the beholder. In my experience, at the end of a case at least one of the parties will be convinced the course of justice has been perverted.
I'm not saying that in a just world Barr should not be disbarred. I'm saying this isn't always (or even usually) a just world.
The way to get rid of Barr is to oust Trump.

(53,061 posts)And the Bar will not take to using a back door to get him out of AG.
Their first question will be if you have a case why don't you impeach him.
On these type of end arounds I always ask what if it was a Democratic AG being disbarred by a Republican bar.
There is an approved process, impeachment, use that.

(11,098 posts)I am skeptical it can be done in 3 1/2 months.
It's late June - time to focus on November! It's not enough to beat Trump. He must be repudiated.

Or, fail to do the above, become a failed state, everyone is on their own, others will capitalize and profit, most of us will be dead, or wish that we were.
At this moment, it looks like we are headed for the second choice.
