General Discussion

The sh*t is getting real.
Republicans are running behind in states that are usually safe for them, like Georgia and Texas.
Not only could Republicans lose their majority in the Senate, but Mitch would no longer be Majority Leader. In fact, he may not even win his race in Kentucky?
The reason they are behind in these states is Donald Trump. If they stay on the Trump wagon, it is very possible, even likely, that some of them will not be in the US Senate after the election.
What should they do?

(32,017 posts)Seriously. This is a no-brainer. Punt the ball and let Democrats run the country for a while.

No GOP incumbent deserves to be re-elected. Not one.

(32,777 posts)... to the Deity's ears. Or something like that!
I believe we're witnessing the self-destruction of the Republican Party. It can't survive this, it has to disappear or at least quietly hibernate for a long time.

(8,067 posts)Never to be heard from again on the political front. He has been part of the unholy trinity that has destroyed our country from the US side of the equation: Trump/Barr/McConnell. Russia has done their part from the other end of the the equation.

(8,067 posts)The media has purposely hidden our side of things since the Reagan years, and since the Fairness Doctrine put the media in the hands of 6 companies.
That's one reason I appreciate so much what Bernie Sanders did for the nation: He showed everyone an alternative to the corruption we have at the very top of the food chain in this country. He said it so well! People here can trash him all they want to, but he did this nation a big favor.

(2,541 posts)There is nothing they can do. They have attached themselves at the hip to DT and his policies. Mitch and the rest of the GOP can try to throw DT under the bus and try to distance themselves from DT now they have filled almost all of the vacant judicial seats but it will do no good. To much has happened to much damage has been done.
