(9,198 posts)Its made in .22lr, .25 ACP, .32 ACP, and one or two other calibers, but the most common is .380 ACP.
I doubt shes ever held it before. Shes got waaaay to much finger on the trigger (and should have it off the trigger in that situation). And firing a straight blowback pistol with a bent wrist like that is painful even with a low recoil caliber.

(6,625 posts)I don't think they've made a PPK in .25 since the '40s, and the .32 version isn't imported anymore. Has to be a .380 -- can't be a .22 because the bore looks too large.
She may have held it before, but from the way she's holding it there's no way that she's ever fired it. If she's ever had any training she must have been kicked out of class, because she's violating every safety rule under the sun.

They'll be disciplined, but I doubt they'll be disbarred. Getting charged and convicted would change that.

(24,377 posts)I worked for a firm that, when I first started, did not restrict DU on my desktop computer, but after only a few months (this was all back in 2006/07) started blocking this forum. I found it fascinating that they didnt also block Free Republic!
Try right clicking the little icon that shows up and click View Image.
See if that works.
Oh...and....
GET BACK TO WORK!!!
LOL
ON EDIT TO SAY, I know this is 12 hours later... BUT STILL!!!

(63,221 posts)DU is never blocked, but certain images and websites are. It's kind of random. I can't really figure it out. I tried the view image thing and that didn't work either. I guess I will just have to deal with it. Thanks anyway!

Your conservative values world view you've held all your life has been fully discredited as a failure.
You 60 years on Earth have proven that you've lived a lie.
Your existence is in shambles, but you dig your heals in, waiting for the final orders from your leader.
Drink the Kool-aid and dream of heaven and leaving this dreadful Earth.

(11,949 posts)Shes lucky she did not accidentally fire off a shot.
I dont own any of the modern assault style guns but I do hunt. Mainly with guns owned by my father and grandfather!
But her finger is on the trigger!!! That is the first thing you learn when in gun safety classes. Keep the finger off the trigger until you are ready to actually shoot. When I deer hunt in the woods all alone with no one within a half mile of me my finger Never touched the trigger until Im ready to fire. Not only that, and perhaps even worse, Her finger tip is all the way through the trigger guard and the middle of her finger is on the trigger. You have little control of your lower fingers compared to the tips.
I know most on DU dont have or like guns, but this photo is a shining example of why we need registration and mandatory safety classes before you can own a firearm. And her husband was doing the exact same thing only his AR15 was pointed right at his wife!! They are very lucky no one was shot.
Privileged rich people who never even think their playthings are actually dangerous weapons because nothing bad could happen to them. They think they will protect their mansion. They are more likely to kill themselves.

If she pulled the trigger, wouldn't the kick hit her in her own nose?

(11,949 posts)I really do not have much handgun experience. They are just too dangerous IMO.
But I know enough to realize she is doing everything wrong. And I mean dangerous wrong.
In Florida why you can have a fire arm in the open on you own property, you cant threaten someone with it.
And unbelievably, Florida does not have open carry. The tourism industry is too powerful and they hate the idea.

(65,170 posts)I actually considered that the gun doesn't look like a high power pistol. But, don't know enough to be sure.
I've only fired a handgun a few times. Each time with state cops on a firing range.
And, that was a long time ago.
