What Happens If Joe Wins, But There Are....

A fair number of red governors left? Just like it is not up to Trump to close down states, it is not up to Biden. Are we going to have to cordon off states that do not follow correct protocol? The way the red governors are acting now, I am just not sure they will stop rebelling. Joe’s efforts and leadership will be good. I look forward to competency. I can see a certain sect of leaders thumbing their nose. What are your theories on what will happen? This disease is so destructive, this weighed heavily on my mind last night.

the GOP governors will agree to at least some restrictions. They follow his lead mostly because they're afraid he will tweet mean things about them and stir up the MAGAts in their states, but with him gone they'll be able to find excuses to follow guidelines from a (restored) CDC.

second, he can fund testing and contact tracing.

third, he probably can shut down a lot of businesses on safety grounds through osha. probably not all businesses, but most likely any business that deals with the federal government and probably any business involved in interstate commerce.

so maybe he can't shut down a local barbershop, but he can probably shut down quite a lot else.

assuming things remain so out of control that we need full lockdowns by january....

He said it would be fifteen deaths then disappear. By now you’d think they’d notice that 160,000 does not equal 15.
And still the virus has not disappeared.

... they will be free to do what is good for their citizens without the constant fear of retribution from a vengeful, tweeting narcissist. Things will be better, I think.

And with the General Election over, GOP governors will be free to follow the health and safety guidelines.

The right’s unwarranted opposition to the guidelines was motivated solely by a concern that the high unemployment caused by the restrictions would jeopardize the GOP’s control of the WH and Senate.
