(10,082 posts)We avoided the south end of the Lake, as we always have over the holiday weekend.
People come from down state and trash the area. A promoter got sued a few years ago because of the massive cleanup required after the partiers left.
Went to the only market at the north end of the lake once during our stay and about 80% were wearing masks. Aside from that, we quarantined on our property, avoiding doing anything touristy, met our plumber to assess a well situation, and left a few days later.
It is a beautiful lake to visit and the area can really use tourist dollars, but that area cannot handle a massive spike of COVID-19. I feel sorry for the locals.

Torch Lake is a very beautiful lake but I wouldn't go anywhere in a crowd like that and I'd make sure they quarantined (they won't) once they got back home.
We have our own segment of rednecks in Michigan.
