If it's a major issue in the Trump White House, Jared Kushner is probably running point.
When he was put in charge of devising a national strategy for coronavirus testing, the president's son-in-law and senior adviser went to his college roommate over credentialed medical experts for an initiative that eventually "just went poof into thin air," one of its participants told Vanity Fair this week.
The Vanity Fair report, published on Thursday, included new details about Kushner's role in the nation's bungled coronavirus response, particularly in forming a handpicked team to create a strategy that was never implemented.
Efforts to build an advanced testing and tracing operation nationwide were scrapped, the report said. One explanation said to have persuaded Kushner to ditch he plan was a sentiment in the White House that outbreaks would be confined to blue states, providing cover for the Trump administration to blame Democratic governors for the pandemic's damage.

(14,187 posts)Using US taxpayer money to reward and enrich your buddies and friends is no big deal.
Unless they fuck up so royally that they cause the deaths on depraved grounds of 150,000 (and counting) innocent citizens.
Then there should be hell to pay.

(30,817 posts)I know why, actually, but it's just so surreal that we are in this place where a family of cons can do absolutely anything, including killing many thousands of Americans, and nothing at all happens to them.
We all just sit here stunned, waiting to see what the next atrocity will be.

The entire federal government seems to be corrupt and non functioning.
This has always been their goal.
Their evil knows no bounds.
If you are familiar with Noam Chomsky he stated twice on Democracy Now that Trump
and the republicans are the greatest threat the world has ever faced.
He included Hitler.
He laid out his three reasons for his statement.

(14,924 posts)"Ordinarily, Facebook would be one of the last places youd turn to for reliable information on how to survive a pandemic. But at this point in the coronavirus outbreak, we have no choice but to take solace in the fact that Jared Kushner thought to ask a midwestern dad to crowdsource actual medical advice.
The dad in question is Kurt Kloss, an actual doctor. Hes also the father of Karlie Kloss, the supermodel who is married to Kushers brother, Joshua, as he hinted at in his first post to the Facebook group EM Docs on Wednesday night. I have direct channel to person now in charge at White House, Kloss informed the groups nearly 22,000 members. If you were in charge of Federal response to the Pandemic what would your recommendation be. Please only serious responses....(more)

JTA A physician with family ties to senior White House adviser Jared Kushner said he solicited advice on Facebook for Kushner on how to deal with the coronavirus.
Kurt Kloss, whose daughter is married to Kushners brother, on Wednesday asked a group of fellow emergency room physicians on the social network for the advice on Kushners behalf, Politico reported Friday, in turn quoting The Spectator.
I have direct channel to person now in charge at White House, Kloss wrote in his post.
Hundreds of doctors responded and Kloss explained that Kushner, who is US President Donald Trumps son-in-law, had asked him for recommendations, according to Politico. Kloss sent Kushner 12 recommendations Thursday morning, according to the article.
