White House and Democrats to Resume Unemployment Benefits Talks as Millions Lose $600 Weekly Aid

https://www.newsweek.com/federal-unemployment-benefits-600-talks-1522135

Talks between the White House and the Democrats about a potential renewal of the federal unemployment benefits are set to resume on Saturday as tens of millions of Americans are kept in limbo aftter the previous relief bill expired.

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin will continue face to face negotiations with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer at 9 a.m. after previous talks ended in a stalemate and both sides blaming the other.

The previous $600 weekly unemployment benefit that has helped around 30 million Americans during the coronavirus pandemic officially ended on Friday.

Meadows said that Pelosi and Schumer rejected four GOP offers during the discussions, including a one-week extension of the $600-per-week federal jobless benefit.

Yertle has at least 20 R Senators who will vote NO against any relief package he offers. That means he needs at least 20 Senate Ds to pass anything. And that means the only way he passes anything is to put forward a package that starts with 47 YEA votes (45 Ds + 2 Indies) and needs only 4 R votes to pass. And THAT means putting the House bill on the floor for a vote.

Masterful leadership from the Ds.

unemployment amount and the GOP is not trying to get rid of it now...I expect there are other issues...something will have to be given up to the GOP...something small of course.

and sent his aides to Costco in order to pickup a new bundle of Toilet Paper for his Office.

Watch how the Speaker puts this Package together in a way to try and have Moscow Mitch save a bit of face with a Sixty vote necessary or a Voice Vote. Mitch has already sent the message,if you need to ditch Trump in order to get reelected,do it.
