Sure, mailing it in, in time for it to be counted, might prove problematic -- but there may be other options for submitting it.
The real problem with the destruction of the US Postal Service is NOT RECEIVING THE BALLOT IN THE MAIL (in a timely fashion) in the first place!!!
Real patriots need incessantly to demand that Congress prevent this assault on our fragile democracy from succeeding.

(25,988 posts)The deliberate slowdown of the postal service is, in effect, election tampering.
*tap*tap* Congress? Your turn.

(18,402 posts)In fact, I'm almost thinking I will do it that way. Not so much because I'm worried about Post Office concerns (I am concerned about that in general, because I am a huge advocate of the post office).
My concern is that we bank enough votes on election day itself to pre-empt any mishegas from the Orange One, who will go on for weeks, while mail-in ballots are being processed, to cast doubt on the outcome.
I'm lucky that I can cast an early vote (or turn in my ballot at an early voting site securely) for a full 21 days before the election. Here are the rules in my city:
In-Person Early Voting & Registration
NOTICE: Due to Covid-19, voters are encouraged to use Vote By Mail or Early Voting before Election Day on Nov. 3, 2020.
NEW THIS FALL: Secured Drop Boxes with date/time stamps will be available at every Early Voting site for Vote By Mail voters to submit their Ballot Return Envelopes from Oct. 14-Nov. 3.
Every voter is encouraged to wear a facemask that covers the mouth and nose, whether visiting to use Early Voting or to use a Secured Drop Box.
Voters in line must practice social distancing with 6 feet (2 meters) of space between persons in line.
For the Nov. 3 General Election, Chicago voters may use any Early Voting & Registration location in the city from Oct. 14 through Nov. 3. Voters may use any Early Voting location.
We used in-person early voting for the primary, in March, and it felt very safe, COVID-wise. We simply picked a time (2 pm on a Thursday), and there were only four or so other people there.
