Denver teacher believes in-person learning is safe, sustainable

https://kdvr.com/news/denver-teacher-believes-in-person-learning-is-safe-sustainable/

“Wear your mask, let’s take your temperature, let’s minimize how close we are together,” she said. “If you’re having symptoms, stay home, or we’re going to put you in the nurses office until a parent can come get you.”

Her opinion differs from the majority of her peers, with only 8% of educators polled in a recent survey saying they’d prefer to begin the year 100% in-person"

We'd just do what the experts said from the beginning. Isolate until community spread is down. Then mop the remainder up with testing and contact tracing. We'd be in great shape.

Along with public health, special education, sex education, public education, science education... Well, any kind of education, really.

and all that requires is eliminating head-to-head contact. Now we expect children to observe social distancing guidelines? This teacher is living in a fool's paradise.

She's obviously not around the average 6 - 12 year-old. Maybe she teaches in some elite prep academy of 15 - 18 year olds...
As one of the last tweets Wilfred Brimley made points out: Anyone who thinks children in school won't lick their hands and run around chasing each other yelling "Covid Cooties" has never met a child.
