Florida Trump supporter goes on wild rant, screams that he's a white supremacist and assaults woman

The people Donald Trump has unleashed on America....

-----

We pretty much have no words for an incident caught on tape in Sarasota County, Florida, but we’ll try. A man went on a curse-laden rant, saying he’s a white supremacist, and talking about President Donald Trump. Things escalate very quickly as he slapped a woman in the face, and apparently followed up with a punch. Bystanders intervened, however, and took him down.

<...>

“I’m a white supremacist,” he said. “The Aryan nation will rule the world!” he yells at the camera. “People covered in tattoos are going to be my closest relatives, I promise you.”

“Hey, we’ve got children in here,” a bystander said.

“I don’t give a fuck,” the suspect said. “Call Donald Trump, please.”

And only being held on a $620 bond?

Every day I'm more convinced that the COVID virus is hitting some members of the other species brains and making them crazy. It has to be something about the chemical differences in our brains that is different than their brains that the COVID virus attacks. It makes people with OUR chemistry protest peacefully, and it makes people with THEIR chemistry fuckin' nuts.

Ok. That's weird. But it's the only thing making sense to me. Fox/russian propaganda can't be the only thing doing this, can it?

Clearly that is RIDICULOUS. This guy should be held without bond, convicted and sentenced to a few years in prison, preferably in solitary with nothing but books about MLK to read.

The entitlement here is absurd. That $620 figure is evidence that the judge is a fellow Nazi.

Good lord. I'm just shocked.

Gotta say, this sort of slap on the wrist is why we suck so badly as a nation right now. A black man who committed the exact same crime would have been deep-sixed already.

Pathetic.

...in some way, either from a psychoactive substance or a physiological disorder.

The problem with Trumpism is that it triggers impulses in people whose impulsiveness is dangerous.

These people are in Florida, and there is a real health risk connected with this interaction.

This place is one of the ugly places in the world.

Alaska's #1, OK second.

(Several cities in FL have declared freedom from domestic violence a fundamental human right, and my big surprise on checking that list some while ago was how few states have any cities that have signed on.)

Florida's about #21 or so for violent crime in general, AK also #1 on that list.

Florida's NOT one of the 19 states where conservatives greatly outnumber liberals, though still leaning red with input from its 20% retired population (tied with Maine for highest). But our retired folk are far more likely to demand more police than to run around with their shorts down attacking people.

Maybe take a nice walk where ordinary Florida people go and look around.

A lot of people in the video were not wearing masks.

That was the risk to which I intended to refer. I don't have a general impression of states with high or low domestic assault rates.

This deranged racist person isn't engaging in domestic abuse, he's engaging in simple unprovoked assault.

I suspect he's either drunk, impaired by some other drug, or is having some kind of episode. In the latter case I am not implying that having an psychological problem implies violence, but merely to the fact that some people with psychological problems can exacerbate their violent tendencies underlying their basic personalities.

I do certainly hope they throw the book at this asshole. The fact that he was asking people to call Trump suggests that he is as delusional as the person he asked everyone to call before becoming violent.

I used to go to bars when I was a kid, and one did see violence in them from time to time, usually by drunks.

kind of thing I thought you were talking about. AC's now also believed to have been a big factor in the spread across the southern states.

A problem for me is that so many people are out and about looking healthy and disgustingly happy on boats, beaches, patios, inner tubes, ball fields and golf courses, etc. You really wouldn't know there was a problem if you chose not to.

Instead, staff let him continue until he assaulted that woman.

His as deserves 30 days in the hole, community service, at least a $5,000 bond, and the male staff needs training and some fucking guts.
