(23,944 posts)family, friends, the people who work at stores where the Irresponsible Fools shop, their families and friends, and so on.
at some point, we'll decide we need to fix this crap, and re-start the economy. then we'll adopt the "Italian" model (full lockdown, permits required for travel outside the home, masking and distancing mandatory). until then, we're just farting around, playing fast and loose with lives.

Until a WHOLE BUNCH of white folks drop dead, this kind of stuff will be repeated ad nauseum.

(23,944 posts)unfortunately, the antipathy for "Black Lives Matter", while paradoxically phrasing itself as "All Lives Matter", has developed as "No Lives Matter" since we're heading toward a cultural norm where every life is as worthy of respect as the heretofore-privileged White Lives.
rather than accord significance to black people's lives, the assholes would sooner devalue lives across the board

I used to live in Wisconsin and don't know WTF happened up there. I suspect the Irresponsible Fools care more about their boats than they do about other people.

(10,800 posts)Sand Bar Bash, an annual event that benefits Old Glory Honor Flight, was scheduled for Saturday. Photos and videos appeared to show a mass gathering with little social distancing.
The Oshkosh Northwestern cannot independently verify that all images were from 2020, though time stamps on multiple platforms indicate they were taken on Saturday, the day of the event, which was promoted on Facebook and was listed on the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau website.

(15,206 posts)...there's nothing about being in a packed crowd like that that looks appealing to me.
Being an introvert, that's not too surprising I personally feel like that. But even trying to put myself in an extroverted mindset, it's hard to imagine anyone being eager for that kind of bodily density and (almost certainly) noise.
