A swath of ferocious winds possibly gusting over 100 mph (purple colors) is nearing Wilmington

A swath of ferocious winds possibly gusting over 100 mph (purple colors) is nearing Wilmington, NC and the coastline surrounding Cape Fear very quickly. Do *not* be outside.

She says the ground is already saturated, so they’re expecting a lot of trees down.

from the beginning. Now it decides to ramp up into a genuine hurricane, as it moves onshore!

It is fixin' to run over the top of Tidewater, where I live, and I am NOT looking forward to it.

I frickin' hate hurricanes. I spent my life in tornado country, and I will take a tornado over a hurricane always!! 20 seconds of terror, vs. countless hours. . Tornado wins.

Good luck, nocoincidences! I grew up in Florida and went through many hurricanes. Then I moved to Hawai'i for a decade or so, where my house slid into the ocean during a hurricane. I can't get away from 'em, and they're no fun.
