so much better. Even if it goes as well as hoped, they won't all come out of this healthy and alive.

For those who don't know, the Paulding high school is not in the Gwinnett County that had all those sick teachers discovered when they came for a prep day. Gwinnett's 141 or so schools aren't opening, all classes virtual for now.

as this only gets worse. I'm just shocked that more parents haven't been more protective of their own children, or had the guts to refuse to send them. Parents of kids this age don't have to choose between working and staying home to care for their children.

Wonder how many will get a nasty clutch on seeing this picture?

Sigh.

nearly 22,000 students. The parents of 30% chose on-line learning, but there's a waiting list because not enough "places," not known how long the list is.

Paulding County recommends masks but regards them as a personal choice, and social distancing will be done as allowed by the situation -- as we see.

This sort of thing is of course happening in many school districts across the nation. In GA's Cherokee County 78% of parents have chosen in-person. Wonder if the percentages are higher for young children; that wouldn't be surprising if so.

of Trump's economy.

Georgia is where they had so many participants at a youth camp test positive.

It would be instructional to read a note from each student's parents explaining what they've taught their kids about coronavirus and its dangers and safety measures.....in summary format to publish in local newspapers.

Let's see just how proud of themselves they are about 6-months down the road.

I would hope that the kids who bring C-19 home don't feel guilty if their grandparents or parents or siblings succumb to it and die or have lifelong, debilitating complications. I also wish them a good adoption if so.

I also see one, very long, building wave that reaches into exponential growth. At this rate, with the number of infected as vectors, the virus will just bounce around the country and the world indefinitely. So much for the window of opportunity here to really contain it.

We may have this virus around for the rest of our lives. It does not appear to be like what people expect from something like influenza; it won't just peter out at some point and disappear. It is a powerful mutation.

I recently read that there may be at least six strains now, which may present problems for if and when a vaccine is ever developed, which is still very uncertain. I'm looking for more info on that.

We are witnessing how survival of the fittest works on real time. People like this infuriate me. To the best of my ability I try to take responsibility and not take unnecessary risks or endanger anyone else. It's hard.

I have no sympathies to spare for anyone who is not in compliance with basic safety protocols. If they get sick, its culling the herd and eliminating the ignorant fools who threaten everyone else. And damn the selfcentered parents of all those unmasked kids who let their ingrained stupidity blind them to deadly risks they forced on their own children.

I see nothing but trouble and suffering in that picture. Not only for those children, but for their families, the community and of course the teachers and school staff.

I don't have any answers, but the answer sure isn't in that picture.
