Yes, I'm going to vote straight Dems, and yes, I'll do everything I can to get rid of Trump,...but

...There are times, like today, when I really feel like the whole United States of America experiment with democracy is just falling apart at the seams. So much hate, so much anger, so much divisiveness. Can it ever be repaired. Sometimes I wonder. I need to find a cave somewhere where I can retire in peace.

this level of hate and ugliness in years past. I feel like I need to look over my shoulder to see who might be listening if I talk politics with friends.

I can't imagine trying to have a political conversation with a Trump supporter. I know people who have always voted Republican, and I don't know if they'll be able to vote for Trump this time around. I hope not. They are good, conscientious people and I can't imagine that they condone his behavior or support his policies, but I expect most of them will vote Trump anyway. It's disappointing and disheartening.

In the meanwhile, we cannot retire. The nation is at stake. Organize, communicate, and vote!
