MEMPHIS, Tenn. As you have most likely noticed, there is and has been a shortage of disinfecting wipes.
So, if you're struggling to find them on store shelves, you can make your own by grabbing a few items out of your closet or pantry.
Start with a strong, sturdy roll of paper towels.
Then, get one cup of water, a large knife and an air-tight container.

(55,007 posts)most wipes tend to have Alkyl C12-18 Dimethylbenzyl Ammonium Chloride
but bleach is one of the best disinfectants to use. I would just put it in a bowl and use a sponge or rag myself. can also put it in a spray bottle but be aware it is bleach, if you get it on dark or "colored" fabric it will bleach it out.

(2,216 posts)I make my own kinda the same way. Water, bleach and a few drops of dish soap in the original empty spray container. Works well. I also disinfect with 99% alcohol in a dollar store spray bottle. I use it in lieu of Lysol spray which is also hard to find. A baggie with paper towels cut in half and 70% alcohol poured in to wet them is convenient to stick in your purse or a book bag to clean hands or wipe down a surface.

So I go with the old standby: soap. Lol
