She has declared racism a public health crisis, which it is, but still not sure if AAs would be fully on board for someone who is not black.

(7,447 posts)but yeah it'll be a bit of a slap in the face.
He just needs to pick Harris. She leads polls of Dems. She's been vetted. She's capable. I get it, she went after him one time. Let it go. They were friends before, they'll be friends after.
It's the right call but I think too many people want someone they think is more pliable or dare I say it submissive. Instead I think Biden needs a partner who will support him in public but willing to challenge him in private. Just like I'm sure he was with Obama.

(7,006 posts)Another Cabinet Post. Her "Not being Black" will not have anything to do with that.
Also, a bit disturbed by the Original Post stating something about Gretchen Whitmer "not being Black". Isn't that obvious?

Whitmer is a governor of a state that was crucial to Trumps victory in 2016. My first choice is still Kamala.

(8,291 posts)I have a feeling most people will be quite happy with Garlin Gilchrist taking the reins there!!

(7,006 posts)We would be! Governor Gilchrist sounds great over here to this Michigander! It will likely happen after Whitmer is picked to serve in Biden's Cabinet over a V.P. position but - will likely happen just the same!

(13,040 posts)administration. Doesn't necessarily have to be VP. Much as i love Whitmer I don't think she is Joe's likely candidate for VEEP.
