really been able to get away with things. He thought he invented Pump&Dump when he saw stocks rise when he invested in them. Then he sold and the stocks tanked, because they were shit anyway. Everyone on the Street saw what was happening and a few rode it for a while until it kind of wore itself out. Highly illegal, but Trump couldn't figure out how to do it big enough for the Feds to care.
He always had fixers to get his ass out of trouble, but, again, was too stupid to get into serious trouble. He dealt with the mob, but that's only because you couldn't get concrete or trash hauling any other way. Shit, I dealt with the mob, too, but that's because I dealt with the Fulton Fish Market. I never thought it was anything special.
Reminds of a couple of distant relatives who were as wasted as it gets, although they never committed a felony that anyone knows of. Anyway, they were stopped for blowing a stop sign in an unregistered, uninsured, uninspected junker after toking and drinking.
The cop, when he realized who he stopped said something long the lines of "Ah, shit. You two again. Go home and if you fuck up on the way we're gonna hang you."
Just wasn't worth the paperwork.
