(102,519 posts)(and perhaps quite a few HRC-detracting DEMS) who would support a Biden-Harris administration would see that as akin to DEMS putting bias/loyalty (as R's have done) over setting the DOJ back on an unbiased judicial footing. So, no. I'm sure HRC would like a lot less travel now after her time as SOS, so perhaps Rice as SOS and HRC as UN Ambassador.
I like Adam Schiff as AG.

(16,616 posts)Does President Obama want to be on the SC?
One thing to consider about who we appoint to the SC: SC justices go away. They are not in the limelight. Do we want to lose the day to day participation in our lives of people like Obama and Schiff? It's just something to consider. The SC is a cloistered Ivory Tower.
Maybe they want that. They'd be spectacular. But we won't hear as much from them.

(15,374 posts)see HRC as a Special Consultant to help get the Department of State back into shape. It has been so demoralized and ruined under Trump and Pompeo.
Hillary might also want some time off to enjoy life. What a disaster it must have been for her to have to watch the near-complete destruction of the US by Trump & cronies! Things could have been so different!

(16,897 posts)I am thinking Stacey Abrams for the next Supreme Court pick when RBG retires. That will put ole Clarence in a tizzy for sure.
I see Joe selecting nominees who will uphold the rule of law. I can see Michelle Obama as well, but I doubt she will accept. I do envision a US Supreme Court with a few more women.

(59,510 posts)He has the intelligence and the legal background, but even when young he chose community organizing. If he were placed on the Supreme Court, we would lose him as an activist and powerful voice in the party. As a Supreme Court Justice, he would be required to be a non partisan - and unlike some Conservative justices, she would likely scrupulously comply.
As to AG, I don't think HRC is a good choice. Obviously, I know that she has a Yale law degree, worked on the Watergate hearing, and is extremely intelligent. However, one of the strongest objections to the Trump years has to be the way Barr became the President's lawyer, not the country's. A nomination of HRC would be painful because it would open so many ugly charges that are by and large lies. It also would elicit pleas that we need a non partisan independent person with extensive legal background. Clinton has no experience as a prosecutor and, if AG, we lose her as a Democratic voice.
Ideally, I would think someone who was AG in one of the states or at least a long time prosecutor, who has experience heading a prosecutor's office would be a better choice. The best choice I can think of is Sally Yates, who was high in the Obama Department. also think think of the many brilliant state attorneys who challenged Trump's illegal actions. (I think Letitia James or the WA state has one who was very successful)
